The purpose of this site is two-fold: to help inform the public about intellectual property and to provide useful updates to professionals in the field.
The posts on this site are designed to be a starting point – either towards professional advice or a more thorough investigation of the facts. The Chimp will post basis, the proverbial horse’s URL, so that those who want to delve deeper can do so (and hopefully inform the Chimp of any errors or omissions).
The Chimp despairs when he regularly reads elemental errors in reports from such august publications as the Financial Times and the Economist; if the broadest of broadsheets cannot get its intellectual property straight, what hope is there for the general public? He believes he is personally responsible for such errors. Through this site he hopes that next time an overworked reporter googles an intellectual property story they can at least be sent in the right direction.
